Dear Alumni: 
 
I proudly announce that the TJMCOAA new site is up running. It is a very impressive and dynamic one. You are welcome to register a user name and start to explore its many functions. Guangzu, Gary, Ke-Qin and many board members have worked on this tirelessly and are much appreciated. 
 
My special thanks go to Guangzu Wang. He has been working on the new site for a long time, but persistently, despite his busy work schedule. The site is the baby of him. 
 
The old site is still and will be maintained as our backup site, and could be reached at old.tongjioversea.org
 
Please send your feedback to me within 2 weeks before we finalize the program.

沉痛哀悼叶世铎教授逝世

2011 年 9 月 1 日，我校心血管外科学专家、中国医师学会心血管外科终身成就奖获得者、协和医院心血管外科奠基者之一，曾担任过全国人大代表，同济医科大学党委书记的叶世铎教授因病逝世，享年84岁。

叶教授从医40余年，在心血管外科领域取得了多项重大成就。1970年，以他为首的体外循环研究小组，经过短短的
动物试验阶段，成功开展了体外循环心内直视手术，把同济医科大学的心外科水平，提高到国内领先的地位。叶教授开辟的人工瓣膜实验室，采用生物瓣膜，为广大风湿性心脏病患者，提供了治疗的机会，也为其他人工瓣膜的临床应用提供了理论和时间依据。
